Well, we’ve really been pretty rubbish at keeping the website up to date, haven’t we? But we are still here, we had an excellent time at FATB 2019 (photos will happen at some point), and YES – we are planning for FATB 2020.
As I write, the Steamboat is, along with all other pubs, shut. However, we do have a date set for FATB – Sunday 7 June – and we will go ahead if the pub has been allowed to reopen by then.
We have a fantastic act lined up to headline: John Watterson, aka Fake Thackray. There are also some great local bands in support.
So do watch this space, and I promise that we’ll keep you informed as to whether or not FATB 2020 will be going ahead.
In the meantime – stay safe out there.
The 2019 line-up is starting to take shape. Acts confirmed so far:
The Bounty Hounds
Shadows in the Shade
More to be announced!
… will take place on Saturday 15 June.
Acts will be announced as and when they are confirmed.
…to everyone who supported Folk at the Boat 2018, as performers, audience or both! And, of course, to Andy and the team at the Steamboat, without whom the event wouldn’t be possible.
We were lucky with the weather again (about ten drops of rain fell during Brooks Williams’s set and that was about it), and it was an excellent day all round.
Watch this space for details of FATB 2019!
You can find all the details on the Folk at the Boat 2018 page.
We look forward to seeing you!
Acts now confirmed for Folk at the Boat 2018:
Morris dancing with Maldon Greenjackets, Danegeld, Westrefelda and Haughley Hoofers
We’re getting into gear later than usual this year owing to various illnesses and other distractions, but we are now close to finalising the line-up for Folk at the Boat 2018, so keep watching this space and there will be announcements very soon!
…will take place on Saturday 16 June.
Put the date in your diaries now and watch this space for details!
… to all the performers who contributed to a fantastic day on Saturday, to everyone who came along to enjoy it, and of course to Andy Barlow and the team at the Steamboat!
We couldn’t have asked for better weather, although our valiant morris dancers might have preferred it to be one notch cooler. Still, after last year’s rain no-one was complaining and it was lovely to be able to be outside for the whole event.
We’re going to have a little rest now, and perhaps a nice cold drink.
Yes, it really is only the day after tomorrow! We’ve added an FAQ page which will help with any little afterthoughts you may have had, and we look forward to seeing you at the Steamboat this Saturday.
